Fireside Chat: Racing to Net-Zero with the Voluntary Carbon Markets

With COP26, there is an urgent need to resolve the complexities of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement related to carbon markets. This informal session seeks to highlight and advance the voluntary carbon markets as a mechanism to reduce emissions, the issues surrounding scaling the voluntary carbon markets globally, and how we can ensure climate impact remains at the heart of our activities.

From Paris Accords to Net Zero, what bold moves do we hope to see from leaders at COP26? What is the importance of carbon pricing and the role of international carbon markets in achieving net-zero? What opportunities are in carbon credits as an asset class? From additionally to double-counting, how can we resolve the challenges facing the voluntary carbon markets? With multiple standards and a lack of regulation, what should companies look out for when offsetting as part of a decarbonization strategy? What do we expect from the year ahead?
