Week at a glance (August 28 – September 1, 2023) Activity in China’s national Carbon Emissions Allowance (CEA) market jumped to a 2023 high, closing the week with 6.46 million tons of total volume. Both open market transactions and block trades reached their 2023 highs as well. The market has been active since the last week of July when the 2021 and 2022 allowances were determined and distributed to covered entities.
